Digital Printing for Building Panels & Decorative Panels
YiliJet DREAMS One Pass UV printing systems are designed for manufacturers evaluating high-throughput digital printing on compatible panel materials.
Furniture, cabinetry, decorative wall panels and interior fit-out products.
Decorative surfaces for furniture, interiors and commercial environments.
Selected interior cladding and decorative panel applications.
Selected architectural, display and decorative applications.

Building panel manufacturers need differentiated designs, consistent surface appearance and flexible production options. Industrial digital printing supports decorative graphics on compatible rigid panels while allowing digital artwork changes.YiliJet's DREAMS One Pass UV printing systems use a fixed printhead array and controlled substrate transport to print digital artwork as the panel moves through the printing zone.
In a reported MDF production test, the DREAMS 1224 printed 1220 × 2440 × 18 mm boards. The tested walnut woodgrain design achieved a 17-second print cycle, with continuous production reaching 100 boards per hour over four hours.
Surface preparation, adhesion, colour consistency and curing.
Surface chemistry, ink adhesion and wear resistance.
Surface treatment, ink compatibility and dimensional stability.
Coating compatibility, adhesion and panel flatness.
PET-faced panels and other rigid boards can also be included in material validation. Coated or laminated MDF may behave differently from raw MDF. Material compatibility must be confirmed through testing.

Final validation
The MDF test reported very good image consistency and minimal visible colour variation.
Substantially reduced banding compared with the reported baseline process.
Reported MDF test consumption: 8–12 ml/m².
Adhesion was reported as normal under the test conditions; post-curing can be evaluated.

YiliJet evaluated the DREAMS 1224 One Pass UV printing system using MDF boards measuring 1220 × 2440 × 18 mm. The reported test used a 720 × 1800 print mode and walnut woodgrain artwork.

Rejected panels, reprints and extra processing.
It is a digital printing system designed to print on compatible rigid panels used in decorative, furniture, interior or selected architectural applications. Machine selection depends on panel dimensions, surface characteristics, required output and production workflow.
It can be evaluated for compatible building panels. Surface preparation, ink adhesion, curing, colour consistency and end-use requirements must be validated for each material.
In the reported MDF test, the walnut woodgrain design had a 17-second print cycle, and continuous production reached 100 boards per hour over four hours. Other materials, designs and production setups may produce different results.
Machine handling capability and print-surface compatibility must both be checked. Coatings and surface chemistry may require different preparation or ink configurations.
Manufacturers can evaluate ROI by comparing the total investment and operating costs with the production benefits. Key factors include printing speed, daily output, ink consumption, labour costs, energy use, maintenance, material waste and finishing requirements. Comparing the cost per accepted panel and expected production volume with the existing process helps estimate potential savings, payback period and long-term profitability. Actual results depend on the application, operating conditions and production efficiency.
